Audio input not working when connecting BOSE headphones via cable - BIG SUR

Hello all,

here is the deal: after installing Mac OS Big Sur in my MacBook Air, the audio input channel does not work if I connect the BOSE Quietconfort II to my laptop via cable (mini jack).

I have checked the privacy settings and the audio settings. Despite the input source (external headphones) appears when I connect to bluetooth, it disappears when I connect the BOSE headphones via cable.

The funniest thing is that this doesn't happen if I use the apple EarPods included with the iPhone (mini-jack).

Can anyone help?

MacBook Air 13″, macOS 11.0

Hello Mr_Pablo,

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities!

We understand from your post that when your Bose headphones are plugged into your MacBook Air they are not showing up in the audio settings. In a situation like this you may need to contact Bose directly to determine if their headphones are compatible with macOS Big Sur.
