External disk icon stuck on desktop after removal
On Mojave 10.14.6 on a MacBook Pro, I had a USB drive with multiple partitions connected. The Individual partitions show as individual external disks (6 or 7of them I think). When I was done checking some things on the USB, while in Finder I selected one of the "drives", and chose to eject it. A window popped up with the option of ejecting all, instead of individually selecting and ejecting each of the "external disks." I chose the eject all option. They all vanished from Finder and I physically removed the USB drive.
I later noticed that the external disk icon for one of them was still showing on my desktop. I have tried to move it to the trash, or to another directory without success. I have also tried switching the display external disks on the desktop option off and on in Finder Preferences without success. The icon remains even when the preferences are set to not display external disks on the desktop. I have not yet tried to reset the PRAM/NVRAM because I have some things running and would rather not shut down right now. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
