using apple pay for the first time but it is not recognizing my credit card as the default card. why?

Is it set as the default in Settings > Wallet and Apple Pay > Default Card?

Apple Pay used wrong credit card I have several credit cards in my Apple wallet. One obviously is the default card. But when I pay on the bus with Apple Pay it always chooses a different card. how to set Apple Card as default for Apple Pay? Apple Pay is set up to draw from my checking account. I'd like it to default to my Apple Card. How do I do that?
