iphone 12 Pro won't open in itunes

My Mac Pro and my iphone 12 Pro are up to dade with the latest software, I have been trying for 2 weeks now but still itunes won't recognise my new iphone, very frustrating.

If you have the current Mac OS there is no iTunes.
