Apps keeps reinstalling

I would like to factory reset my iPhone but everytime I do so, some older apps from 3 years ago are installing automatically, even the wallpaper before the reset keeps appearing after the iPhone has been reactivated.

All i want to keep is the WhatsApp back-up and thats it.

Any apps that had content stored on the phone when you backed up will be restored. The apps aren’t in the backup, but if the backup contains data from apps then those apps will be restored. Just delete them and restart the phone.
