iTunes purchases won't download

Just purchased a couple of songs on iTunes rather than downloading them on Music, specifically to pay for the rights to use them in a family video. They won't download or play, despite showing that they were purchased. It's not a space issue; I have nearly 90 GB available, and both the apps and the phone are running the latest versions. How can I get this to work?

I like Apple Music, but the issues with Music and iTunes makes me wish Apple could just add and improve, rather than replace, their programs.

iPhone XR, iOS 14

Hello Lauritz,

Thank you for posting! It's definitely important to be able to play your purchased content. We'd like to see how we can help with this, and we'd like to start by getting some detail about the issue.

Is this happening on an iPhone? Which model and iOS version?

Also, what's happening when you try downloading the songs? If you get an error, what does it say? The best steps will depend on the answers to those questions, but this link has some good steps as a starting point: If music, movies, or TV shows from the iTunes Store, Apple Music app, or Apple TV app stop downloading

We hope that's helpful.

Enjoy your day.
