Where are bootcamp windows 10 drivers for 32bit?

I have some diagnostic programs that need to run on windows 32 bit platform but I cannot find Bootcamp drivers specifically for 32 bit Windows 10 they are all for 64 bit use.

The Drivers I do found that are 32 bit, wont run on Windows 10 32 bit, as Windows blocks it, saying it is the wrong version. I have done the obvious and even tried to run it in the compatibility mode.

Any one know what I am doing wrong?

I thought the old Windows 7 Bootcamp drivers should work as long as windows let me install them, but that's the problem, it keeps getting blocked in windows 10 during install.

You mention W7 and Trackpad drivers on a 2011 Mac, but then you mention W10 and a 2012 Mac.

  • Did you upgrade from W7 to W10 when you moved your 2011 W7 SSD to a 2012 Mac? If yes, was the 2011 installation a 32-bit Windows installation?
  • Can you re-install Windows 10 on the 2012 and your software and applications again?
  • W7 32-bit (not W10) drivers are available in Install Windows 7 on your Mac using Boot Camp - Apple Support. Look at the 32-bit column in the table. Mid-2012 Models support 32-bit, but late-2012 models do not.
  • The W10 Trackpad drivers for a 2012 model do support the right-click at both corners of the trackpad.

You can install W7 on the mid-2012 Mac if you have macOS Sierra. Later macOS versions do not support W7. However, once you have W7 up and running under Sierra, you can upgrade to later macOS versions, with some caveats.

Apple stopped supporting Bootcamp for Apple M1, not Intel Macs. It has not stopped supporting BC drivers. The W7-to-W10 is causing issues. Also, if you are on W10, download the W10 drivers from Apple using macOS -> BC Assistant -> Action -> Download. Do not install all the drivers, but just the trackpad driver and test installation. If it installs, then test functionality.

Hi thanks for your reply, Oh I was hoping that wasn’t the case, my main issue is getting the MacBooks standard track pad to right click, I loved how bootcamp

had this in windows 7.

The issue arose when I changed from my macbook 2011 to mid 2012. I transferred my SSD to the later model and now I cannot revert back.

if you know of a link for drivers for 32 bit that win 10 won’t shut out that would be awesome!

Hi again,

yes I have done all that and cannot find a balance between:

  1. a fully working Win7 that won’t support my softwares as it needs a later windows.
  2. working Win 10 32 bit that has no drives
  3. win 10 will not load apple bootcamp drivers individually or as an install unless you know of a work around, or perhaps a setting in Win 10 that is stopping the install to progress. In all honesty, I cannot see why the win7 32 bit drivers should not work in win 10 under compatibility mode it should work but it doesn’t, I have tried to disable as much as I can, firewall, anti -virus etc....

A. No I upgraded my macbook to another new second hand unit from late 2011 with perfect copy of Sierra and boot camp win7 no issues and then put that my SSD into the new 2012 mid MacBook Pro then all the issues started and now I cannot revert back as now the win7 - is up graded to Win10 ( stupid I did t think apple would stop support for boot camp) I had to do this to run my née software.

This is the root cause of your problems. Do you still have the 2011 Mac?

Disabled all and this is simply Apple no longer supporting us the people that bought their products to make them what they are today!

Apple simply wants to make all their products obsolete.

If you stay with a working configuration. For example, go back to W7 on the 2011 Mac, it will keep your older (32-bit) software working.

After many fresh formats installs upgrades, I am very dissatisfied with Apple. I opted to change to 64 and gave up on using my macbook to run my shops diagnostics for cars on it and decided to dedicate the new MacBook Pro to Wind 10 64 bit assuming this will at least fix the Windows issues. Now I have a new set of problems EFI boot won’t support audio drivers!!!

So over Apple !!

The bootcamp has formatted Windows 10 this way

firstly I really appreciate your help, the simple solution would be to find a generic driver that will make the track pad in the macbook work for right click. Atm all I have is movement and left click function.

replying to your dot points:

b. Maybe I will have to do that reinstall win 7 but then the née programs won’t run it needs windows 10!!!

c. I’m sure the win7 32 bit drivers will work but Windows 10

keeps blocking them to install so frustrating! Also I tried to up grade from Win7 to win10 and the apple drivers get uninstalled!!’ Go figure?

D. Where to get these drivers you are talking about unpacked that windows 10 will accept an install?

thanks in advance

also I cannot run win10 64 bit as the new software needs win32 as it runs diag for cars that is 16bit. All this issue would be avoid if :

  1. Win 10’ did not block the apple driver update for 2012 Win 7 bootcamp
  2. if Apple just still supported 32 bit Windows 10 32 bit drivers and not just 64 bit and I’m actually annoyed at Apple for this!
