Braided Loop band "fit and finish"

I just received my Braided Solo Loop band. It doesn't seem to have the "fit and finish" I expect of an Apple product (maybe I'm too picky?). See the attached photo and compare against Apple's official marketing photos. On my band, you can clearly see the metal "bracket" end of the strap when looking at the watch, and depending on the strain on the band, it may appear more on one side than the other - giving a "crooked" appearance. On the Apple photos (probably renderings...), you cannot see the metal edge.

Can anyone confirm whether what I am seeing is normal?
