Cannot enter dfu mode on iPhone 4

My iPhone 4 has been stuck in a bootloop for a while and when I try pressing the home + sleep button, the apple logo disappears like it should, but then when I start holding the home button without the sleep button, the battery indicator appears, showing I have no charge. Itunes doesn't see my phone.
