Western Digital Easy Store Backup adaptor cable

I have a Western Digital easy store backup drive which I have used with my old MacBook Air. Me new MacBook Air uses new USB-C connector. I need a cable or adaptor to mate with the USB-C on my new MacBook. The interface to the Western Digital Drive is a plug I do not recognize.

A simple USB-C-to-A adapter will work with the cable you have. Apple makes one:

Personally, I use little $8 dongles from Amazon (brand is nonda).


The port on the HDD is a USB3 Micro-B:



If you want an adapter-free connection, use a cable like this one:
