How is your printer connected currently? For example, you may have it connected to your Mac using a USB cable or may have set it up wirelessly?

If you've already added your printer, try removing it using the steps in the article we shared previously - Add or remove a printer.

Then, use add it using another method from Add a printer on Mac. We also recommend using the following HP page to check to see if your printer is compatible - HP Printers - macOS and OS X Compatible Printers.

If you are seeing an error message or your HP printer doesn't work, If your HP printer doesn't work and you see a warning that HP software '...will damage your computer' may help as well.
