I can’t contact the original owner of the phone I purchased. What do I do?

I bought an iPhone was I later found out was stolen and it has activation lock but I have no way of contacting the original owner. What can I do?

If you can't reach the previous owner whose ID is on the device and have them remove the device from their account, the device is worthless. Apple won't unlock it for you.

Turn off Activation Lock - Apple Support.
