How do I fit my slideshow to music on iMovie on MAC

I am creating a slideshow for the first time on iMovie. I have the latest version. I have added 2 songs to the slideshow and with all the research I have done, I can't figure out how to fit the slideshow to the music. Does anyone know how this is done? I'm trying to get this project completed for xmas.

Determine the total number of seconds in the songs and divide by the number of pictures you have.

If the songs add up to 360 seconds and you have 100 pictures, you will have a picture duration of 3.6 seconds for each photo so that the photos end perfectly. Note this is not accounting for any transitions you have, but in that case you would determine how many transitions you have and then include those in your equation.

To change the duration of the photos, highlight all the photos in the timeline (CMD + A) > Click the 'i' button in the upper right corner > change the duration to match the math.
