fitness on an amazon fire tv

That's good to know but it would be great to have the Fitness+ work with the FireTV. I don't plan on buying another streaming device and I agree that the iPhone is too small to do a video workout. Even the iPad isn't ideal. I can see how it'd be difficult but even seeing the workouts would be a nice to have.

I have Apple TV 4K and 2 other Apple TV series 1 and 2, Chromecast and Amazon Fire. It will work on your Apple TV 4K after you upgrade to the lattest OS version. A new app will be displayed and then you can see on your TV.

However on the rest of the devices I haven't been able to make it work. Fire TV will download Apple TV but I didn't see the Fitness + so no luck there. I tries to screen mirror the iPhone screen to the other devices (Chromocast, and Apple TV series 1 and 2) and it won't mirror the display. I guess this is typical Apple. They want us to buy the latest Apple TV to be able to see on a TV. Using a Cell Phone to follow the instructors doesn't work. Can't concentrate to see the person and do the exercise.

Thanks Apple but don't appreciate to have to spend another $200 to see on the screen.

I’m having the same problem as well, I have Apple TV 3 and just found out from apple that I cannot do the apple fitness workouts on my Apple TV or the app on other TVs in the house, I would need to purchase a newer version of the Apple TV box. I can’t even have the workout on my phone/iPad and airplay to the tv. This entire process is a disorganized and inconvenient mess, and so uncharacteristic of apple. I’m not going to replace a functioning and relatively new device and shouldn’t have to-such a waste.

I tried today to cast the workout and found the same issue with the firestick. The preview works but not the actual workout. I love the new iFitness app, but it's so hard to follow on my iPhone, and I even have a 12 ProMax!! I hope they develop something soon for the firestick and the fitness app to mirror each other!

I believe it does, its been about a year since I tried with my iPhone, as long as it is the same connector. Both my iPhone and my iPad still have the lightning connector so it works for me. The picture isn't always the best depending on the size of your TV screen. It can sometimes look stretched or squished, but I was able to adjust the settings on the TV and it looked better.

Yeah, I bought a connector just to do this and it doesn't work. Just like nearly everyone else says, the preview works and audio comes out for the workout but no video. I tried with other streaming services (Netflix, Disney +) and none of those work, either. Maybe it's the lightning/HDMI adapter I have? Maybe some work and not others?

for anyone using fire tv ... I’ve successfully used fitness plus by mirroring by iPhone 12 to the fire tv cube using an app called Replica.

There are a few extra steps but works fine.

It needs the Apple Fitness+ app on an Apple TV set-top box.

The Apple TV app in not involved in this.

An Apple TV box would replace/sidestep the Amazon Fire TV device. As an HDMI device, it connects to the TV replacing any smart functionality from other devices.

I presume it will as it really just replicates anything on your mobile screen... I was just watching a preview of a fitness class - I’m gearing up to maybe begin exercise again soon.

Maybe try permissions or reinstalling - it certainly works for me.

Using Replica, did just the previews work or did the actual class work as well? If the actual classes work, do you pay for the service or are you using the free version?
