Wake-Up Alarm on Apple Watch

Dear all,

I’ve been using the wake-up alarm on iPhone for several years now. When I go to bed, I turn on flight mode and “do not disturb” mode and leave my iPhone on my night stand to charge.

For a couple of weeks (probably since the latest WatchOS update) my Apple Watch 5 mirrors the wake-up alarm.

The problem is that I charge my Apple Watch at night, but not in my bed room. When the alarm goes off in the morning it goes off parallel on my iPhone and watch. But as the phone is in flight mode, I turn off the alarm on my phone, but it keeps on going on my watch. This his is very annoying. Every morning I have to get up to turn it off on my watch as well. The Snooze function is somehow irrelevant that way although I’d like to use it.

On top of that, sometimes I change the wake-up time on my iPhone before going to bed. But if the iPhone is already in Flight mode, the change is not mirrored to the watch. I then have two different wake-up alarms. Very annoying.

Is there a way that I can keep using the wake-up alarm on my iPhone and deactivate it on my Apple Watch?

If so, how?

And if not, can I please return my Apple Watch?

Thank you,

Ben.

If you set an alarm on your iPhone it will sound on both the iPhone and the Watch only if the watch is unlocked.

If the watch is locked it will only sound on the iPhone.

If you set the alarm on your watch it will only sound on your watch.
