Rosetta-2 is Apple-provided software that will load automatically when needed to emulate Intel-code on an Apple-Silicon M1 processor Mac. All you need to do is approve and say OK.
it is an optional part of MacOS issued directly by Apple.
Rosetta itself does not take up much additional room. It does not make Applications take up additional disk space in normal use.
When you launch an x86-code Application on an Apple-Silicon Mac, it will take a moment and translate the main binary x86 instructions into Apple-Silicon M1 instructions, then execute the Apple-Silicon version. As the Application runs, more and more gets translated and is stored in RAM memory.
When you quit the Application, the translation is discarded.
Rosetta doesn't harm the laptop or the system itself? and does it take up a ton of room, from the laptop's storage capacity?
