Hi Mike,

We're happy to clarify this step with you.

In order to find the Orientation Lock button, it can be accessed within Control Center.

Click here for how to use and access Control Center on your iPad:

Access and customize Control Center on your iPad - Apple Support

Once inside Control Center, you can find Orientation Lock as one of the first icons under the Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and Airplane Mode buttons.

Have a great evening!

Thanks for getting back to us, Mike.

We're glad to hear that restarting helped you resolve this issue. Normally, if you don't see the Orientation Lock icon in the Control Center, it would be because your iPad has the side switch. You did mention that the buttons are only for volume on your iPad, though.

If you do have the side switch set to be the mute button, and would like it to be the Rotation Lock, you can go to Settings > General then go to "Use Side Switch To" and select it.

Thanks again for reaching out to the Apple Support Communities!

Have a great day!
