Mailbox message label error

iMac running Big Sur. Sporadically message labels in a mailbox do not display the right message. Often they are simply swapped. Has anyone else seen this.

In column view on the left hand side there is a list of mailboxes, next there is a list of emails for the box selected, a label if you like, next there is a preview of the whole email addresses, subject, body everything.

Every so often the label does not correspond to the preview. And if the email is opened it corresponds to the preview not the label.

I do have several accounts but can't really remember whether it is one account in particular. It doesn't happen very often.

Thanks for your concern.

Hey mrharris,

It looks like no one has responded to your question. Here are a couple things that might help others answer your question:

When you say labels, are you referring to the message sender and subject not matching the contents of the email, or something else?

Do you have multiple email accounts set up in the Mail app? If so, does this issue happen with all accounts or just one of them?

Thanks!
