iCloud Drive is disabled after updating to macOS 11.1

You can't do anything, only wait.

Restarting, safe boot, any try to speed up this ends with more wait time. Switch on your Mac, log in and wait until it finishes. You will have to wait about 3/4 days after last iCloud Drive login or activation.

And support cannot do anything. I got a "iCloud Drive specialist" that had less knowledge than me in iCloud Drive, with dumb try solutions that ended in nothing, a phone call for next day that never happened.

This is the "New Apple". It it does not work, wait until it works.

Happened to me on my 2017 15inch macbook pro. What a waste of my work time. I kept getting messages saying it was unable to automatically update to 11.1, so I press update now. turned it back on and none of my icloud syncing worked between my ipad and realized all of my files were removed. and my files that are on my computer in the shortcut panel were removed from my icloud drive. I have no idea whats going to happen with the duplicate files. How could they let this happen with a minuscule software update.

This is an unacceptable situation. Basically I have to re-sync about 600 GB of files before have my system working one more time. Apart of that, it takes about 24/36 hours to have available non-app folders.

In this situation I have to wait until almost next Monday to have available all my files.

As said, completely unacceptable.

Have you solved your download issue ? It's been 4 days for me and still no files. Tried everything (safe boot, sign in/out, re-activate iCloud Drive) and nothing.

As unacceptable that, as it is not the first time this happens to me after an update, I've turned back to Dropbox. I will stop paying my 2TB iCloud Drive next month.

BTW, Dropbox takes about 50 minutes to have available all my about 1 million files-in-cloud.

After about 56 hours (two and half days) I have my files in iCloud Drive... but I cannot download them yet.
