Personal Memojis disappeared after macOS Big Sur 11.1 update

Personal Memoji's are not in the Messages app anymore in macOS Big Sur 11.1. The built-in ones are there, but the ones you personally make or not.

They are still on my iPhone 12 after updating to iOS 14.3.

If you create a new Memoji in messages app on Big Sur it will not show up on iOS.

Signing in and out of messages on the Mac did not fix it.

Rebooting computer did not fix it.

Hi CodackDesigns,

Thanks for the information. If you want your Memoji on all of your compatible devices, you need two-factor authentication enabled for your Apple ID, and you need to be signed into iCloud with the same Apple ID on all the devices. You also need to have iCloud Drive turned on for all devices as well. Let's check these settings to make sure they are enabled and set up properly.

Best regards

Hello CodackDesigns,

We understand your personal Memojis are missing from the Mac since updating to Big Sur and we're happy to help. Is the Mac still using the same Apple ID account for iCloud as your iPhone is using?

Also, do they return after restarting your Mac using the steps here: Log out, sleep, wake, restart, or shut down your Mac

Lastly, does it allow you to create new ones on the Mac using the steps here: Create your Memoji in Messages on Mac

Have a great day!

Hey jdo_apple,

Yes using the same Apple ID on my iPhone as I am on my Mac, boths in iCloud and in Messages.

They are working correctly because I can receive and answer text messages (from Android phones) as well as make and answer phone calls from my Mac.

(just a heads up, All Caps is being used to stand out… its not out of anger or anything ha ha)

Oh no, as I listed earlier, I’ve restarted my Mac. Also after shutting it down, they do NOT return.

No, as I listed earlier, you can create a new Memoji in the messaging app on Big Sur it will NOT show up and iOS.

Also creating a Memoji on iOS does NOT show up in Messages on Big Sur.

Signing in and out of messages on the Mac with the same Apple ID, does NOT fix it.

Completely signing out of iCloud on Mac and making sure I'm signed out of Messages and FaceTime, then restarting the computer and signing in again. Does NOT bring them Memojis back. The only one that still shows up is the one I created on the Mac but none of the other ones show up.

Screenshots provided.

The reason two of them look similar is because I was trying to re-create it on the Mac. The Messages on macOS screenshot is showing all the Memojis created. As in the slider bar is all the way to the left.

Looking forward to a fix.
