Since going to work from home since mid- March, I got and use a Sennheiser SDW5066. It is a DECT headset and base. The base connects to my computer via USB-A and the headset communicates with the base over DECT. The base has touch controls for connecting to three devices: a computer via USB, a landline handset via cable and a cell phone via Bluetooth. So one headset I can use for internet calls and use with my iPhone. I just tap the icon in the base for whichever I need to use.
The quality of sound over DECT is excellent and supposedly should work up to 500ft away (although my home is only about 1250 sq. feet so I cannot say I’ve tested that range). The headset is dual over the ear, active noise canceling and the boom mic is also active noice cancelling. The same thing is also available with a single speaker as well. They are not cheap, but given how much time I spend on Zoom, TEAMs, WebEx calls and meetings, or using my iPhone for work calls, I’m glad I spent the money and got something this good. Especially since I will be working from home permanently from now on as we’re giving up our leased office suite.
It’s seemless to just reach over to the base and tap on computer or iPhone as needed (the base charges the headset too).
