Fitness Plus app on my iPad can’t connect to Apple Watch SE

The fitness plus app on iPad can’t connect to my Apple Watch SE. The app shows “looking for watch” and then “Apple Watch unavailable”.

However the fitness plus app on my iPhone connects to my Apple Watch SE without any issues

I did every step from this article including removing my Apple ID and iCloud data from phone and iPad.

I updated to the latest OS on watch, phone, and iPad. I talked with Apple support for an hour before they accidentally hung up on me. Nothing made any difference. My iPad could not find my watch.

THE FIX that finally worked, at least for me, was to UNPAIR my watch. Unpairing completely erased all my data and I had to go through the whole pairing process like a new watch. This took about 30 minutes but afterwards my iPad found my watch when starting a fitness + workout just like it did before this problem. I wish I would have tried this first. It really was easy since all my data synced back to the watch after pairing again.

IMPORTANT! This issue was maddeningly frustrating until I figured this out. I tried the restarts, deleting the app and reinstalling it, signing out of iCloud and signing back in, all of that. Yes, I had the Home app on my phone and my iPad, BUT when I clicked on the little house in the top left-hand corner on both the phone and iPad and selected Home Settings, BEHOLD! I realized they were not using the same account. They both had the same email address, but did not seem to be logged in in the same way. So I uninstalled the Home app from my iPad, signed out of iCloud, signed back into iCloud, reinstalled the Home app, and it immediately paired with my watch and worked like a charm. THIS IS THE ANSWER!!! Hooray!!!

Did not work for me.

Odd thing is that both my ipad and phone worked fine a few weeks ago while I was at my parents’ house. Now that I’ve returned home, my phone works flawlessly, but my ipad has stopped working. Wifi and bluetooth are on. I’ve tried restarting all 3 devices and launching the home app on all devices, yet still my ipad refuses to find my watch.

Are there any other troubleshooting suggestions?

Do I need to do something within the home app other than open it and enable iCloud? I have opened it on both my iPhone and iPad but can’t find anywhere within the home app where it instructs any sort of connect on the fitness+ app or my watch. I have restarted all three devices and can’t get anything to sync— is just keeps telling me the watch is unavailable every time I start a work out.
