Hi, I’ve got 2 iPhones 6 and X, iPhone 6 is on Bose sound dock just to play music. Question is can I control it from my iPhone X remotely? Can iPhone 7 work as Bluetooth receiver?

Not that I can think of. This is because the Bose Sound Dock requires an iPhone to be physically connected. No other input to Bose except from the connected device. The connected device, which in this case is an iPhone 6, cannot be wirelessly (or otherwise) connected to another iOS device which puts your iPhone X out of the picture.

You asked about other apps to accomplish this. I am not aware of any however my research is very limited. Try checking on Google and see if there is something that can be done.

There is something that you may be able to do with Amazon Music or Spotify where the songs may be able to be advanced, or even selected, using another registered and connected device. Check into this.
