FaceTime on my MacBook Pro disconnects when the recipient answers

I have worked through all suggested fixes ... date & time set to automatic, common Apple I.D , FaceTime and iMessage logged out and back in again etc to no avail.


My iPhone and iPad both continue to work fine on FaceTime on the same wifi connection


What have I missed ?

They won't be able to fix it. Have already spent weeks on the issue. iOS/iPadOS 14 can't connect to older devices (such as my Mac is running 10.12.6). iPhones and iPads running 13.2.3 still work perfectly.
