I am trying to unpair my Apple Watch from my phone - for over an hour now my phone has been on the screen "Unpairing Apple Watch; Your iPhone is currently unpairing Apple Watch. This might take a little while." I've read online that this part should only take about 10 minutes. Any suggestions?

I ended up shutting down the apple watch app and restarting it and it worked.

Are you unpairing it through the watch app on the phone?.
If you are try this instead;
On a computer, go to iCloud.com and sign in with your Apple ID.
Go to Find Iphone.
Select All Devices, then click your Apple Watch.
Click Erase Apple Watch.
Select Next until the device is erased.
Click the remove button next to your Apple Watch.
My Apple Watch isn't showing up under "All Devices" - I guess it wasn't connected to the cloud. Any other suggestions?
