Transferring from old to new Mac

I'm migrating from a MacBookPro mid 2011 to a new MacBookPro 2020 and want to know if I should transfer the system and network, or use the one from the new computer. Thanks

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 10.13

Thanks BobTheFisherman, but this link doesn't answer my question I'm afraid. Is the system/network from the old computer something I should want to transfer to the new one? Is it compatible? Is there a new OS system on the new computer I should use instead? Or is the System & Network not the same as the Operating System for the computer?
