problem with javascript (I think) in Safari for only one user

I have been having a problem in my user account on my 2013 iMac running 10.15.7. Specifically, when I try to view certain content in Safari it doesn't render - Instead I just see a blank spot on the page. This is happening with interactive content. The site where I am currently running into this problem is at the New York Times (https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2020/us/covid-hospitals-near-you.html?action=click&module=Top%20Stories&pgtype=Homepage), but I have seen this same problem at other websites, like the Johns Hopkins corona virus tracking site (https://coronavirus.jhu.edu/map.html). When I go to these same websites using safari on the same computer but logged in with a different user, those sites render correctly and everything works.

I have tried deleting the safari folder located in /Library for the affected user with no effect. I have turned on the javascript console in both users and taken screenshots of the messages that is showing. The first image below is the console for going to the NYtimes website in the user where rendering doesn't work, and the second image is the console for going to the same site in the user where rendering works. I don't know anything about javascript to even know if this is really where the problem lies, but I thought those two logs might be useful for somebody to help me. I have been in chat with a person at Apple but they were not able to help me resolve the problem.
