Put Big Sur on my MacBook Pro, but cannot on my ? Do it, or not?

My IMAC is Late 2012, and will not accept Big Sur. My MacBook Pro is newer and will take it. Any reason I should update my Book and not my Desk - or keep them both the same. I don't do anything special on either one: emails, banking, stock brokers, etc.

iMac 27″, macOS 10.15

Keeping both on Catalina is less confusing, unless there are features in Big Sur that you MUST have.
