My dictation on my Apple Watch series 5 has stopped working for almost a week. I have tried restarting my watch and phone, factory resetting my watch, updating my phone and watch and I have checked the dictation settings. Is there anything else I can do, or is this likely a hardware issue? The watch is 4 months old.

What happens when you try to dictate something? My guess is that if you go into the Watch app and Settings and check General>Enable Dictation, that is turned on? Is Dictation turned on for your iPhone? Can you use Siri on the Watch?
Yes that setting is on. When I try to dictate the line stays flat and it says “sorry I didn’t get that.” Or “Sorry could you say that again?”
Is Siri turned on? Can you use Siri? Test that for dictation purposes.
