Does iMovie (10.1.14) support ProRes files?

All I see are outdated responses. I see a Humble Bundle deal on video SFX and they say:

"Use these effects in any software that supports ProRes files such as After Effects, Premiere, HitFilm, Vegas, DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut Pro X, and more!"

Will iMovie (10.1.14) be able to use these ProRes files?

Thanks in advance

Hi, Chris,

I am running iMovie 10.1.12, so an earlier iteration than the one you are asking about.

As a test, I exported a project using the Best (pro res) setting and got a pro res 422 movie on my desktop. I then imported that pro res 422 movie back into the iMovie projec and exported the project again, this time as an Mp4 file. The export was successful.

My conclusion is that since pro res 422 is supported in my earlier iMovie 10.1.12 it should work fine on your iMovie 10.1.14. You can do the same test that I did to confirm.
