Can't export the whole photo library and many other problems
Hello Everyone! My first post here.
I had used iPhoto before I've started using Photos, which always had some problems with exporting, maybe because of the amount of photos and videos stored in the library (the .photoslibrary package is 84GB - 13575 files in the Photos app). Got many problems trying to export my whole library.
- When I export all the originals from the inside of the app, it keeps crashing, even with a brand new M1 MBPro
- So then, I export 2000 originals at a time. No crashing but for every 2000, about 100 won't be exported due to Cocoa Error -1 or Unknown Error (4) . Those incriminated file aren't corrupted: I can find them in the Library, editing etc.
- So I try to copy the original from the package: when I open the package using the Finder, the originals folder contains 131181 files (where are the other 384?).
- If I export from the package, will I lose every metadata like date, time ecc.
Here are my question:
- How do I safely export my whole library?
- Where are stored the masters? Can I keep the metadata?
- Is there any other app I can use to safely manage my Photos library? Maybe the app itself is the problem.
Thanks a lot,
Vincenzo, from Italy.
