Hearing Aid Bluetooth Static issue with iPhone 12 Pro

Hello Everyone,

I am currently having static noise issues during a Bluetooth phone call with my Phonak Marvel Hearing Aids on the iPhone 12 Pro.

I have have written about the issues on another hearing aid forum.

What hearing aids do you have. I have Phonak Audéo. M70-13T. All I did was go into the Phonak app and change the bandwidth to fixed. It defaulted to adaptive. Problem solved. No problem with my iPhone 12 Pro since. However, I see that Phonak has greyed out the two options now… so you may have to get your hearing aid dealer to make the change. My audiologist told me the adaptive bandwidth was supposed to give better sound with new phones, but it does not work.

Issue is happening with iPhone XR and Oticon hearing aids too. The frequency of interfering sounds/losing connection, the level of discomfort the sounds cause just keeps getting worse. Hearing aid users in a group I am in on Facebook keep getting the run around from Apple customer support and the hearing aid customer support blaming each other. Seems like the common denominator is Apple, not the hearing aid manufacturer. Thank you, @Alancito, for sharing the link for customer feedback. Hopefully enough people use the form that Apple will do something about it.

Just spent 1.5 hours on apple support chat with 2 guys that repeatedly told me to do the very same things their support webpage told me to do;neither any help. Verizon just replaced iphone12 I purchased June 14,2021 for the same problem. That tells me it’s not our hearing aids,as mine were checked by audiologist and are pairing perfectly. Rebooting phone only fix,and its very shortlived. I think I’m going to bite the bullet and buy another iphone6. Everyone says there will be no support for it,but I used my old one forever and never had a problem with it,and for support,I evidently have none now.

I called apple support and they said that Phonak are not supported by apple. The application in their App Store someone put it there but is not created by apple. They say that as per FDA all HA should connect via bluetooth but they are not supported by apple. That is why Phonak HA have those bad connections and issues.

I cannot listen youtube because it cracks and has a lot of interference, also when I am walking like in the park the trees and the

power lines interfere the connectivity. When I bout the Phonak HA, they told me were supported by Apple but what a resource to

be sold.

I spent a lot of money in these HA and are useless for phone calls .Everybody complains the bad connection.

Same here, with Costco KS 9.0, which is identical to Phonak Marvel.

I spent several hours on chatting and phone call with senior advisors, but they do not know what to do.

The funniest is they keep asking me to do phone calls with senior advisors. How can a severe hearing handicapped, wearing hearing aids with a lot of static noise with iPhone 12, easily do a phone call?
