In my Health app data sources for cardio fitness show "none" and no data has been recorded in the app. How do I setup a source

Trying to get Health App to record cardio fitness data from Apple Watch Series 6. Health App is showing "no source" for cardio fitness data.

I have tried everything and still there is no data being reported. I have an apple series 6 with latest update, iPhone 10 with latest IOS. I am pretty sure I set up Cardio Fitness when I got it as of right now there is no option in the health app to set it up as Apple’s support article listed above tells you to do. There is no ‘set up’ button, so I must have done this when I first got the watch (last week). I have been scouring the support articles to fix this. I’ve taken two walks ensuring Apple Maps was on for the location, and using the outdoor walk on the Fitness app. Nothing. No data of any kind. This was a great feature that I loved on the Fitbit and I really hope it suddenly starts working. Surely this must be a bug.

Update, after following a bunch of steps from including powering off and on both phone and watch and resetting my fitness data then going for a timed 20 minute walk it is now working. I do notice that if I walk outside with open outdoor walk, the activity ring does not record accurately so I think there is still a bug there. Works with the timed walk though. Also “other” on open works fine. It’s just the outdoor walk on open that is inconsistent.

My apple watch 6 is my first ever apple watch, bought it on Nov. V02max never worked since the beginning even though I’ve followed the 20 minute outdoor rule. This morning I tried a bit more intensely: Outdoor walking for 23 minutes average heart rate 150bpm with max 194bpm. And Cardio Fitness data finally shows up. My usual workout is 30 minutes outdoor walk avergae heart rate 110bpm. Will see tomorrow if any data will show up if I go back to my usual routine. I think you must reach certain heartrate for it to begin collecting data. Hope it works for you.

PS I recaliberated my watch before I started my workout this morning.
