Migrating voice memos from iPhone to iMac

I'm trying to view and store voice memos from my iPhone SE (new version) on my iMac (2020) via iCloud and can't seem to make it work. I've enabled iCloud sharing for voice memos on both devices as prescribed by Apple support, but the voice memos still will not display on my Mac. I'd rather not move them over one by one via Airdrop, as there are hundreds of files that I'm trying to migrate, and it would be an enormous pain. Just wondering if I missed something in the setup that would allow me to share back and forth painlessly.
