Exclamation mark on photos iphone

Hi

Maybe someone out there, has tried this or mayby know something about it.

There is an exclamation mark on random photos on my iphone. one has one and the next does´t. My icloud has been out of space for a long time. So the photo´s with the exclamtion mark are not in icloud. And the photo´s with the exclamtion mark are not usable.

So my question is why is so randon which photo´s that has an exclamation mark and why did my phone choose to do this, cause i have not made any setting makking some of my photo´s not usable ?

And finally is there another way to get them back ? or did my iphone just delete more 50 % of my photo´s from the last 24 month´s ?

Thanks

Simon

Hey 1973simon,

We're glad you thought to reach out to Apple Support Communities about the issue you're having with some of your photos showing an exclamation point. This means the original photo is stored in iCloud and needs to be downloaded to see the full resolution version. The following guides may help:

Manage your iCloud storage

Set up and use iCloud Photos
