Macs do not run iOS, the Operating System for iPhones and iPads. Versions before iOS 14 are no longer available.

There is no version 12 of MacOS, the Operating System for Macintosh Computers. There is a version 10.12, High Sierra.

Update describes what you do to bring your currently-installed same Major version up to the latest level. Moving to a new Major version requires an UPGRADE, which is accomplished very much like a new purchase, but for $0.

What version of MacOS are you running now?
