The oldest iMac that will support 10.13 is the iMac 21.5-inch, Late 2009 model. If you select about this mac from the apple menu on the overview tab you will see which model you have. If your iMac is an older model you are at the max MacOS that you can run. I also use an App called MacTracker that provides details about All Apple hardware items.
