My search bar has disappeared from within the mail app. I have tried swiping down and clicking on the date to get to the top of the screen but nothing works. If I use the search function from the home screen which will find 3 mail items , but when I click on “search in app” it just goes to one email not a list of search items. Any ideas of how to fix this?

Based on what you mentioned, your search options are not present in Mail for iPadOS. You seem to have done the right steps according to: Search for email in Mail on iPad. It is possible that there is an issue with the user interface. Try to restart the app and iPhone. For help with restarting, review: Restart your iPhone.
