Gaining 100Hz on MackbookPro 2018 with LG 31'' monitor

Hello everyone,

My very first post here, so be patient ;) Probably easy one for you.

So, I have the following setup:

1. Mackbook Pro 2018 (4 usb-c ports) with intel Iris Plus Graphics 655 1536MB, Catalina 10.15.4
2. LG 32GK650F-B 31'' Ultra Gear monitor
3. HDMI cable + USB-c to HDMI adapter (hama)

and maximum refresh rate I can get from it is 75Hz. My goal is at least 100Hz at 2560x1440px (no big deal imho)

Please advice on how to achieve that the fastest and cheapest way.

I am pretty convinced that this is mainly question of correct cable and adapter, but I am not sure which one will be capable, as I cannot find what are parameters of usb-c ports in this mackbook.

I already tried

• installing original LG drivers (https://www.lg.com/pl/wsparcie/produktowe/lg-32GK650F-B)
• setting custom settings with SwitchResX app (https://www.madrau.com/srx_download/download.html)
