iMessages not working in my MacBook

This suddenly stopped working, even before the last update to Big Sur. It was working fine, I was able to send messages from my Mac and they were syncing beautifully with my phone. Nothing changed. My Apple ID is enable in the messages app, along with my phone number. The text messaging forwarding option is enable in my iPhone to forward messages to my Mac. My Apple ID and phone number are listed in the Send and Receive option in my iPhone. Everything seem to be in order. I don't know why I'm getting the error message in my Mac when I try to send a text: "Message failed to send".

Any help appreciated. I have read all the questions in here and online regarding this but all the settings in my iPhone and my Mac are fine.

iPhone 7, iOS 14
