High Cpu Usage

Hi,

Recently, I've been noticing my fan speed running extremely high for lengthly periods of time, which seemed odd to me because I only use my computer for very mundane tasks. Checking email, YouTube, internet browsing for example. I was reading these forums and decided to post my Etrecheck log to see if any one could help. What are your thoughts? Thanks so much for your time!!

Hello badhairdaaze,

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.

We understand that your fan has been running at high speed for extended periods of time. You are not using any processor intensive apps when it does this. You can take a look at the following support article will provide some more information on the fans and fan noise on your computer.

In reviewing the EtreCheck report, there is an entry that appears to indicate that there is a runaway process using a large percentage of your processor. You can see the following article to use the Activity Monitor to see what process is running and force quitting that process if necessary.
