Why is my family subscription pending?

How long does it take for the subscription to Apple Music to switch from individual to family? Why is it "pending"?

If we understand correctly, you changed your individual Apple Music plan to a family sharing plan, and afterward you were getting a notice that the subscription was pending. If we're on the same page, we'd like to help. Did you lost access to Apple Music after you changed to the family sharing plan? If so, you may need to scroll down to enable “Share with Family” after changing your subscription. The article you were reviewing when you posted here explains:

If you had an active Apple Music subscription when you changed you shouldn’t have seen an interruption in your service. If you did, try restarting your iPhone to refresh the connection and see if it helps.
