My touch ID stopped working when I updated my MacBook air on 11.1 it was working fine before I updated it

Try removing the fingerprint already there and add it back OR reboot in Safe Mode ( SHIFT key ) immediately at startup and remove and add the fingerprint back. Reboot normal and check if it works.
