running first aid on Macintosh HD - Data - frozen

I have a brand new MBP 16’’ with a 1tb ssd.

I started a first aid on my Macintosh HD - Data. It seems to have frozen on « checking the fsroot tree » for approx 10hrs now...

It does say « it may last several minutes or hours » but this seems a bit too long. Should I let it continue, or can I interrupt the process by restarting the computer?
