I am partially sighted, I am interested in Iphone 4 ability to increase the fonts size.

I am aware the fonts can be increase to read.

My question is when I am texting, I am typing a message, will the fonts of my typing be increase? It is pointless not able to read what you type if it can not be increase.

Large Text lets you make the text larger in alerts, Contacts, Mail, Messages, and Notes. You can choose 20-point, 24-point, 32-point, 40-point, 48-point, or 56-point text.

Set text size: In Settings, choose General > Accessibility, tap Large Text, then tap the text size you want.

According to what you are saying, the fonts WILL increase in the text input window? So you can read what you type before you press sent?

I have to ask as I have a few mobile phones in the past which made a claim that they can increase the fonts. But when go down to typing, I could not able to read what I type as the fonts in the text input window does not increase.

It does exactly what it says it will do. You can select the text size you want for the text input window for the four apps noted. See page 223 of iPhone iOS4 User Guide

While there, you can also read about the Zoom function which may be helpful to you.
