Premium Subscription? What is this?

I've just had an emailed invoice for £2.99 for a 1 year subscription to Premium. It contains real address and ID information, plus part of my credit card, so I assume it isn't a scam. The sending address seems genuine.

Problem is I don't actually know what Apple Premium is. Can someone remind/enlighten me please?

Hello Converted2iMac,

It sounds like you are needing help identifying the email that you've just received. If you did not subscribe to item, then it may be a phishing message. You can take a look at this article for more information:

Recognize and avoid phishing messages, phony support calls, and other scams

Ok so I checked my card and the money had been taken. The email actually was from Apple and was a premium for an app on my iPhone. It wasn’t for a ‘Premium’ service of any kind. The problem was in identifying which of very many apps as the email itself was unhelpful.

I went to Report a Problem and when I checked the transaction then that told me which one it was.

it was genuine, Apple simply didn’t provide sufficient detail on the invoice.

I should say, we have 2x iMac, 1xMacbook, 2x iPad, 2x iPhone, 1x Apple TV - and we have a Family account. Not that easy to identify things...

happy Christmas

Thanks for your reply. I’ve had many many phishing and scam contacts over the years and they are pretty easy to spot, but the one I was looking at seemed to have more information not normally on a phishing email that it had me wondering. The amount was small but I’m aware that often an initial try is succeeded by something much more significant. I’ll ignore it and check my card account. Thanks.
