Jan 18, 2014 6:28 PM in response to Jess315by EGTA132,I'm seriously thinking of ditching Apple. They don't have very good customer service and the same thing keeps happening to me! I'm considering trowing my iPod touch out the window...

Jan 18, 2014 7:45 PM in response to EGTA132by Merlin309,Apple is fine - - if you have no desire to understand or have any control over what goes on in the background, AND, provided you are happy with what Apple has decided is good for you. They don't need customer service, because nothing ever goes wrong with their stuff - - unless, of course, you pushed some buttons you weren't supposed to - - in which case they feel you got what you deserved.

Jan 28, 2014 3:34 AM in response to Supreme pizzaby Insassin80,Hi! I'm having the same problems as everyone else on this thread obviously! My situation has been this: the credit card I've used since established my account has had an actual balance of " Zero dollars & Zero sense!" Ya! It's maxed out & has been for nearly 2 months. I've had a terrible record of identity theft ,iPhone & Droid hacking, & sadly, my old mbpro was so badly hacked that Apple asked me if they could take it to let their super tech people examine it etc. Naturally, I never heard from Apple or my Contact who was assigned to my case ever again! It's called common curtesy people!! I left numerous messages for this person because I just wanted to know what had happened etc PLUS , I had the top AppleCare plan that turned out to be entirely useless.
Back to the current situation. I've read through the thread & people have suggested that you need money on the card attached to your iTunes account. That makes sense, I suppose - even if one rarely purchases apps. I tend to DL free ones 99% of the time but sure, I've purchased a few things along the way. During the past 2 months, I've DLed free apps & deleted others that I was no longer using. Every time I was alerted to the fact that new updates were ready to go for the apps I have DLed currently on my iphone, I'd hit install & they'd update etc. AGAIN, THE MY CC THATS STILL ON MY ACCOUNT HAS BEEN ENTIRELY MAXED OUT FOR 2 MONTHS- IT LITERALLY HAS HAD ABSOLUTELY NOTHING ON IT, NOT EVEN A PENNY LOL!! 2 days ago, I noticed that an app was ready to be updated so I hit update & the little circle that indicates how much time the app is taking to do what it needs to do just kept spinning & spinning & spinning & as usual, the entire store app crashed. I ignored it & later in the day tried to DL a free app & it did the same thing , ultimately crashing 3 times after 3 tries at DLing this very popular photo app. Then , as I was cursing the existence of this " awesome company, " a little box appeared alerting me that I needed to sign in to the store again. I thought it was odd, but due to all the problems I've had , I'll admit I'm extremely paranoid!! I closed the app & then started the process over again. The same alert kept coming up so after actually canceling all the running apps etc, I ran a cleaner program, which freed up about 240mb & then I did the hard reboot or whatever it's called. Long story short, the same warning box popped up so I finally clicked " continue" so I could log into my account. Right after I entered my password, another alert box popped up saying " THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH YOUR BILLING INFORMATION. PLEASE FOLLOW THESE STEPS etc etc..." I was directed to my account info that has not changed at all. Somewhere else I this thread , a person posted that the cause to this irritating problem is due to having two computers attached to the same account & by deauthorizing the oldest computer, it would solve the problem. Or, that our banks or CC companies have changed something with our accounts & we just are not aware of it. Using an entirely new cc or debit card makes perfect sense to me, but clearly that doesn't work either. Finally , after completely deleting my CC info & all of my account info etc I re entered said info because at one point, an alert box popped up indicating that I had forgotten to enter the 3 digit code for my CC. After that, I was prompted to reenter my zip code. Then , I needed to renter my last name, then back to the cv code, last 4 numbers of my CC, first 4 numbers etc... Talk about frustrating! I'd fix one entry & as I'd hit done, I'd see another info box lose it's entry & the little red * would appear etc
Again, if money was the issue , why was my account active & functioning as normal up until 2 days ago? Plus, this has also been a common theme on this thread , why would you need a cc with a few $$ on it just to DL the free updates that you need to do anyway ? Or , why do you need money on your card for free downloads. Especially in I my situation because there had been 0 dollars & 0 cents on my card for the past 2 months & I've been having no problems doing the recommended free updates or downloading new free apps. My iTunes account hasn't shown any recent activity & the last time I was billed for a .99 app was a LONG time ago. My account has never shown any strange purchases or odd activity. Everything has been completely normal up until now. I just wanted to share this & wonder if anyone else has experienced something similar. 1 thing that happens with great frequency is that the majority of my apps crash & they crash a lot. I'm not sure why bc I don't have my phone overdosing on apps with no free space. Quite the contrary , I usually have at least 3gb of free memory . Still, safari crashes all the time . I get notifications that I'm not connected to the internet when I clearly am & it's extremely upsetting when my husband is sitting next to me , having no problems on his iphone with an internet connection. Meanwhile, my phone just will not work despite showing that it is attached to the net - full wifi signal / full cell signal / this is obviously not good. The sad thing is that I'm not surprised anymore. But, really, Mac needs to do some serious security overhauls!! I did the whole FK U MAC after my problem w my first mbpro, but returned to this rotten platform bc let's face it, PCs are pathetic lol!

Jan 30, 2014 8:16 AM in response to MatJ333by hclemenceau,Same thing is currently happening to me. I can use my VISA card in person and via Paypal with no problem, so I KNOW THE F%$*ING card is valid.
This problem started for me after I tried to use Google Wallet to pay for android apps, which doesn't work either. I am not going to spend 2.5 hours trying to figure this out like others have. Apple sent me the message that my account was accessed via another computer and I had to re-validate it. I did access the account by my lap top FFS. But the re-validation info I entered into iTunes is VALID - again, I know this because the card is being accepted IN PERSON.

Feb 19, 2014 3:14 AM in response to howzdisby Jackrushton21,I agree with this. I started off liking my iMac, and after having paid £1000 for it you would think it would last. Now after two years, the superdrive won't read discs, the bluetooth keyboard has stopped working and various other problems with the OS. And no help from Apple. They are literally useless. Last time I am buying a Mac. Greedy corporate ********.

Feb 25, 2014 10:16 AM in response to Pignichby kevino50,I had the same problem today with my AppleID. On the payment section, on iTunes and App Store, on my iPhone, it was asking me to complete the security code for my credit card. When I completed it, I got an error message, that my payment method had been declined.
I contact iTunes support and althought I was advised that I would be responded within 24 to 48 hours, I did receive an email reply in less than 30 minutes.
The reply was to advise me that the problem was with my credit card security rather than Apple.
I contacted the security section of my credit card company and they did confirm that a "hold" had been put on my card because of certain international transactions that had been attempted to be processed on my card. Once I confirmed my identity, by answerring the various security questions, I was then able to confirm that the transactions were correct and the "hold" was taken off my account.
I then went back onto "iTunes & App Store on my phone and completed my credit card details, without any problems.
There are lots and lots and lots of posts on this and many similar threads. The problems are not caused by Apple but instead are triggered by security issues with our debit and credit cards, that only we can resolve through our card companies.
Thanks Apple for the quick response.

Mar 5, 2014 9:46 PM in response to Aleeshar18by kevino50,Hi Aleeshar18,
Please read my post, just above yours. You credit card details are probably correct. The problem is that your credit card company have declined the payment for security reasons because they suspect that someone has taken your details and are using your card online without your knowledge. Phone your credit card company and you should be able to get them to take the 'block' off your card, once you can assure them that you are you. I hope this helps. :)
