Sep 13, 2010 9:12 AM in response to MatJ333by benwilsonusa,I've been having the same problem. You'd think that Apple would want to do some damage control by disclosing to everyone what the issue is--or at least giving everyone a warning that their system is down instead of telling everyone that their credit card has been declined. They must have had a major security breach of everyone's credit card data and now they're freezing that capability until they can secure their credit card processes and notify everyone that they've had a breach. -
Sep 13, 2010 9:17 AM in response to benwilsonusaby Don Trammell,Just heard from Apple. There is a billing issue. It should be fixed within 24 hours is what they told me. Fingers crossed. I did send them the info that brasilxxx posted (great info though) and the Apple rep would not comment on it. Hmmmm.... Anyway, they said that things would be okay soon. Who knows. -
Sep 13, 2010 12:29 PM in response to Don Trammellby BrazilNuts,Are you purchasing apps on the VPN computer in the US? The flagging is just for purchasing apps. If you confirm payment method on a computer not blocked before by iTunes app store you will be able to purchase anything besides apps on any device. You will be able to update and "buy" free apps. However if you try purchasing an app all computers and devices will be blocked as the account will go into the payment confirm loop. You will be able to confirm payment only on a computer not blocked by iTunes. The only fix is emailing iTunes customer support and wait, wait... -
Sep 13, 2010 1:01 PM in response to BrazilNutsby Don Trammell,Hi, and no. I am in Finland but I use a VPN to connect to the US. It seems that my computers were blocked and now released as I just received an email from Apple saying so. There was a problem with the billing system flagging computers, in my case 2 iPad, one MBP, one iPhone 4. All seems okay again. We will see, but thanks for the good info. -
Sep 16, 2010 6:11 AM in response to Don Trammellby nirel,Was this issue resolved? I have the same problem with no solution. Yet I see that the last posting on this discussion is from 3 days ago.

Sep 16, 2010 6:14 AM in response to nirelby Don Trammell,Hi mate.
It seems my issue was fixed. I suggest you open another trouble ticket. I had 2 people working on my case. They said it was a problem with their billing and they even gave me 5 songs credit as compensation.
Good luck -
Sep 16, 2010 7:00 AM in response to BrazilNutsby nirel,May I ask if Apple solved the problem for you? I've been emailing them for more than a week and no solution yet.
Thanks -

Not sure if you understood my answer but for my problems, they have fixed them. I can purchase normally again.

Sep 17, 2010 2:48 AM in response to BrazilNutsby lizandvk,@ Brazil Nuts - I think you are on to something. I have been waiting for Apple to fix my problem for a month now and keep receiving emails from tehm asking me to be paitent. Anyway, I had a friend log on to my iTunes account and it worked perfectly, he was able to purchase music, etc. My question for you is, I've had my iPhone 3 and my home and laptop all embargoed with this credit card problem. If I get a new iphone 4 will it become blocked if I sync it with my home (embargoed) computer? Thanks for your help! -
Sep 17, 2010 3:36 AM in response to lizandvkby Don Trammell,If I may jump back into the fray. BrasilNuts was spot on it seems for the info supplied. To answer your question, your iPhone4 should be okay to purchase as it never purchased before. I hardly ever purchased on my Mac Mini (used as a media center where the content was supplied to it via my MBP) and from it I could purchase normally. However, once I was blocked, I could not purchase from my MBP or iPad or iPhone. Now that I am unblocked I can purchase again. It appears that someone at Apple is sitting on your account. You might want to do what I did which is to create more than one trouble ticket and just continue to ask them to speak to a supervisor. Also, make sure they offer some sort of compensation. -
Sep 17, 2010 3:58 PM in response to Don Trammellby lizandvk,Thanks Don, I am concerned that when I sync my new iPhone 4 with my desktop iMac somehow this iTunes embargo might get transferred to the new phone. From what you and Brazil nuts have said, it sounds like if I don't purchase any apps I shouldn't have a problem. Although, my phone isn't much good without apps, is it? Have they completely unblocked you account now? Thanks again -
Sep 17, 2010 5:07 PM in response to lizandvkby BrazilNuts,Still on the waitlist to get my account reset. More than 12 days now.
Liazndvk, your account will get blocked again only if you try purchasing apps. As long as you don´t purchase apps, you can update apps, get free apps and purchase (rent) everything else, movies, songs, and so on.
You may sync your devices and do anything else, but purchase apps.
I would suggest everyone having a problem, keeping it on the same thread as there are older threads on this becoming buried. There are some also on the Mac section. -
Sep 17, 2010 6:58 PM in response to BrazilNutsby lizandvk,Well, I tried it with my new iPhone 4...the same thing happened, credit card declined. Back to the drawing board -
Sep 17, 2010 9:16 PM in response to lizandvkby BrazilNuts,Can you try doing this on a computer that was not authorized for your account, like a friend´s computer? You just need to confirm the credit card code on it and this should end the loop. Then you can de-authorize this computer and use your own.
But don´t try purchasing apps on any of them. -
Sep 18, 2010 2:57 PM in response to BrazilNutsby ran nono,I'm new to the iTunes store, i've managed to buy some music thru clickandpay on the last 2 days.
