Fraudulent text from area code 469

I receive 10-15 text messages from the 469 area code on a daily basis. I have tried unsubscribing my number for the sites, blocking each call and even calling the companies. There has to be a way other than what Ive been doing to take care if this. I spend at least an hour of my day on this stupidity.

Only thing that has helped me (very little-they are becoming a little less frequent, though) is forwarding the text and phone number to ATT Spam (7726). Check with your provider for text SPAM stuff. It's a very mild pain in the rear, at first, but instead of two or three daily, it is down to one every couple of days (and I report those too)

I am having this same issue! Unbelievably annoying and there’s literally nothing I can do as it’s a different number each time. How companies are able to get away with this trash for as long as they have is crazy! This has been happening to me for months now. And I’m talking multiple spam text messages every day. Just wanted to post to get more visibility on this issue!

There is nothing you can do to stop text spam. Even if you could block a specific area code they would just switch to a different one, because generating phone numbers to spam with is trivially easy. As 469 is an area code for Dallas and its suburbs it’s probably not a good idea to block it even if you could.

This is a user-to-user forum. Apple's participation here is minimal. They will not be commenting here on this issue. You can contact them directly by using the Contact Support link at the top right of every page of these forums.

This is a user-to-user forum. Apple never comments here. And there would be no point; yes, today the calls come from 469, Dallas, Texas. Tomorrow or soon it will be another area code. The only solution is to block all phone numbers.

the area code is always 469 but the number is always different, any way to wildcard block the 469 area code?

Me too. Numerous. Every day!!! Help!!

I am having the same issue. Daily for the past 5 weeks I have had to block a diff 469 number. There has to be a way to stop this. Please do something!

I'd prefer a different answer, but you're headed for the solution many of us have to use: mute all unrecognized callers, and let voicemail or unknown-callers sort it out.

There's no technical solution to this, either. Not as currently implemented and regulated.

Contact your legislative representatives and grumble about the phone spam and text spam.

Then do what the rest of us increasingly find necessary and mute all but recognized contacts.

And alas, calling number spoofing means we can't trust the calling numbers.

And with the spoofing, blocking a single calling number or a whole area code are about equally as effective—or as futile—as the spammers are automated and simply shift numbers.

I’m having the same issue. I block one text and another comes from the same Chicago area code! Talking about Amazon, Walmart, PS5, etc. PLEASE HELP

I’m having the same issue. Receive daily fraudulent texts. So frustrating. Block each number only to receive more from a different phone, same area code.

I am having the same issue the above people are having. Numerous fraudulent texts from this area code. Amazon issues, government money I have access to, etc. Blocking each number has not helped.
