Error when Updating to iOS 14 from 11.4.1 Operating Software (iPhone 8)

i've had an iPhone 8 sitting in its box for a couple years (sadly), and recently had to use it as my iPhone 6s (don't judge) crashed during the iOS14 update as it was not able to make it past the apple logo.

so i took the SIM and put it into the iPhone 8 and... ...and i cannot update to iOS 14.

i download it fine, but then the error message occurs when i try to install.

how do i get to iOS 12, or iOS13 or get this to iOS14?

What is the error message? An iPhone 8 is compatible with iOS 14.

However, it should also be possible to fix the problem with the 6S.

I have the same issue, tried to update over the air. Also I tried deleting the update file, but the error comes again.

It would help if you identified the error message. Are you trying to update via iTunes or over the air?
